So many people talk so much about velocity right now that lots of guys think/talk about pitching the wrong way. Too many people in youth and high school baseball think throwing hard or being a 90 MPH guy automatically makes you a good pitcher. When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter whether you throw 90 in high school or 100 in the big leagues. If you can’t change location/ velocity/ spin when you need to and possess the ability to compete your ass off every pitch, you will get to a place sooner or later where you cannot get outs. Above average velocity can open some doors when it comes to scouting, but it alone can never or will never win games.
